Post Collision Checklist: What to do if You’ve Just Been Involved in a Car Accident
A car accident can be a very stressful event for anyone. It is important to stay calm and gather as much helpful information as you can.
First and foremost, seek medical treatment immediately if you have been injured. Your safety and well being are most important, and you should call an ambulance if you have no other way of safely getting to a hospital.
Also, if you are able to at the time, you should obtain information on the other driver(s) involved, exchange insurance information, take pictures of the accident scene, get names of witnesses, and call the local police department to make a report.

This information will be extremely helpful should you decide to pursue a claim later on. However, if you are unable to gather any information at the time of the accident and decide that you want an attorney, do not panic. Your attorney will investigate and gather all of the facts and evidence needed to prove your claim.
